Comecer and Atley Solutions announce strategic collaboration to advance astatine-211 radiopharmaceutical manufacturing

Integrated solution combines Atley’s automated Astatine-211 radiopharmaceutical production module with Comecer’s shielded isolator technology to support the next generation of targeted alpha therapies.

Castel Bolognese, Italy, Göteborg, Sweden – 6 October 2026. Comecer, a global leader in shielded isolators, hot cells and automation systems for nuclear medicine, and Atley Solutions, developer of the world’s first commercial module for automated manufacturing of Astatine-211 (At-211) radiopharmaceuticals, today announced a strategic collaboration to deliver an integrated radiopharmaceutical manufacturing solution for At-211.

Under the collaboration, Comecer has engineered a specially adapted shielded isolator to accommodate Atley’s automated module, the Atley C100. The Atley C100 purifies At-211 from irradiated bismuth targets and synthesizes At-211-based radiopharmaceuticals, while the Comecer isolator combines GMP-compliant containment with engineered radiation shielding. This is particularly relevant as next-generation, high-output accelerators enable the production and handling of substantially higher At-211 activity levels. The combined platform pairs Atley’s automated manufacturing technology with Comecer’s expertise in radiation shielding, operator protection and pharmaceutical containment, aiming to reduce operator radiation exposure while streamlining the workflow from irradiated target to finished radiopharmaceutical product.

Astatine-211 is an alpha-emitting radionuclide with unique properties that make it highly promising for targeted radionuclide therapy. As interest in targeted alpha therapies continues to grow, the availability of reliable and standardized manufacturing solutions has become increasingly important. The integrated Comecer – Atley platform is designed to support research institutions, hospitals and radiopharmaceutical manufacturers in scaling At-211 manufacturing from early research through clinical development and future commercial applications.

“We are proud to partner with Atley Solutions to help advance the adoption of astatine-211 in clinical practice. By combining Atley’s expertise in automated radiochemistry with Comecer’s decades of experience in high-containment radiopharmaceutical applications, we are delivering an integrated solution that enables safer, more efficient and standardized radiopharmaceutical manufacturing” Stefania Lovisatti, VP Sales & Marketing, Comecer.

“With growing interest in At-211 and an increasing number of programs moving toward clinical development, the need for robust, safe and compliant manufacturing solutions is becoming increasingly important. Together with Comecer, we are making it easier for customers to establish a reliable At-211 manufacturing capability that enables handling of high At-211 activity amounts, is practical to implement, and ready to support increasing clinical demand” Julia Fransson, COO, Atley Solutions
